Our Mission

Giving voice and visibility to children and youth experiencing homelessness.
HEAR US works to raise awareness, educate communities, and amplify the experiences of children, youth, and families facing homelessness across America through storytelling, advocacy, films, books, and public engagement.

HEAR US creates films, books, interviews, educational resources, and public presentations focused on family homelessness and housing insecurity.

Through direct community engagement and firsthand storytelling, HEAR US helps make invisible families visible while encouraging greater understanding, compassion, and action.

By combining advocacy with firsthand experiences from the road, HEAR US encourages deeper awareness, empathy, and action surrounding the realities faced by vulnerable children and families.

Our Work Focuses On

Advocacy & Awareness
Helping communities better understand the realities of family homelessness.
Education & Outreach
Providing presentations, discussions, interviews, and educational materials nationwide.
Storytelling & Media
Using films, books, photography, and firsthand experiences to amplify unheard voices.

Why This Work Matters

“The greater the understanding of how many children and youth are without a place to call home, the more enlightened our response will be.”
~ Diane Nilan
